Good to Know

Studio Policies

The short version of how we run the studio. Questions about any of it? Email info@oakcliffdance.com and a real person will answer.

Attendance and absences

  • Report an absence in the parent portal before class when you can. Dancers age 13 and up can report their own.
  • You can report a single date or a date range, such as a family trip.
  • Absences do not change tuition. Tuition holds your dancer's spot in the class for the season.

Makeups

  • Makeup classes are scheduled in the parent portal. Pick the dancer, then pick an open class at their level.
  • Makeups are subject to space in the receiving class.
  • Makeups are for missed classes during the current season.

Tuition and billing

  • Registration is charged once per season at sign-up.
  • Tuition is billed monthly across the 12-month season starting August 1, 2026.
  • Autopay is offered at checkout. You can also pay each invoice by hand.
  • Costume and competition fees are billed separately as each item is confirmed.
  • Scholarships are available. Email info@oakcliffdance.com before you register.

Dress code

  • Dress code is set per class. Check the class page for the shoes and attire that class needs.
  • Hair pulled back and out of the face for every class.
  • No jewelry, no gum, and no street shoes on the dance floor.

Drop-off and pickup

  • Arrive a few minutes early so class can start on time.
  • Dancers wait inside the lobby until an adult arrives.
  • Let us know in writing if someone new is picking up your dancer.

Weather and closures

  • If we close for weather, we post it on the studio social accounts and email families.
  • Closures are made up when the calendar allows.

Withdrawal

  • To withdraw, email info@oakcliffdance.com. We need written notice before the next billing date.
  • Registration fees, costume fees, and competition fees are non-refundable once ordered.

Photos and video

  • We sometimes photograph classes, showcases, and competitions for studio use.
  • If you would rather we not use your dancer's photo, email us and we will note it on the family record.

Behavior

  • Respect the teachers, the space, and each other. This studio is for everyone.
  • Parents watch from the lobby so dancers can focus in the room.
